you click the Net Search Directory button in Netscape
Navigator/Communicator, you go to Netscape's Net Search. This page brings up several different
engines/directories that have commercial agreements with
Netscape. Most search engines and directories will allow you to customize a browser start-up page to fit your particular surfing interests. Just in case you want to know: Search engines are programs that find information on websites; directories catalog information that is submitted. Just to confuse you, some of these companies use information from search engines and directories. And some companies combine hits from other companies. If you want your school's website to show up when somebody does a search, you should register with several of these companies. On their homepages, look for a link worded like "Add URL."
